On March 17, 2008 Hannaford Brothers Company announced that they had experienced a security breach that potentially compromised DEBIT cards utilized at Hannaford Supermarkets between December 7, 2007 and March 10, 2008. Hannaford reports that card numbers and expiration dates were obtained during the card authorization process, but personal information such as account-holder names and addresses were not captured.

It is unlikely you will encounter fraudulent activity, but we want you to know that Granite Hills Credit Union is doing everything possible to protect your accounts. We utilize security monitoring programs to detect and protect against fraudulent activity on cardholder accounts.

Compromised cardholders will be receiving replacement cards at their current home address on file with Granite Hills Credit Union. New cards will be issued and mailed on April 5, 2008. In order to activate your new card, you may go to any Falcon ATM and do a balance inquiry using your old pin number. Please note that your Pin number will NOT change. Old cards will not work after April 18, 2008.

We strongly recommend that you use either On-Line banking or Call24 audio response banking (877)979-6528 to monitor your accounts. If you need assistance setting up either of these options please feel free to contact a member service representative at Granite Hills Credit Union.

If you discover any suspicious activity please contact us immediately at 522-5000. You are not generally responsible for any fraudulent transaction appearing on your account as long as it is reported to the credit union immediately upon discovery.

If you have a Granite Hills Credit Union credit card that was compromised you will receive additional information by mail.
